Guantanamo
Anybody had any experience facing their brake mounts for disc brakes? How did you go about doing it, or should I get it done in a bike shop?ThanksAdam
Muel
You either need a facing tool or you need to get a shop to do it for you.If you're handy with a file you can get it fairly close, but you need to make sure that the rotor is absolutely flat and true first. Muel
Yeh just the forks, the tool fits into the dropouts and uses a wierd milling bit type thing to cut a tiny bit off the disc mount and make them flat.
N.Wood
If they're anything other than an ISO mount you'll have to check with them what tool they have, as the Hope one doesn't fit non-ISO. Most stores now carry a Hope one as they're so much cheaper than the competitors.Tartybikes can face forks for you, and do +20/+30 mounts too.
