shamage
Hi there, im looking to start trials , i ride with my left foot foward and right behind because with bmx i could jump onto rails which are sideways easier by kicking my foot outwards to get the back to follow my front tyre. With trials and side hopping is this a similar concept, as in alot of vids i see people riding the same as me but liking to hop the opposite way. Also what are brakes used for in trials?thanks Edited May 4, 2009 by shamage
Mat Tea Why
Usually people who ride with their left foot forward (me) put their wheels to the left of the object they are attempting to get up, this also means sidehopping to the right. However there is no real 'rule' for it, just do it how you feel most comfortable
Captain Scarlet
Famous left foot forward trials bikers.Neil Tunnicliffe, Michal Nowak, Benito Ros.Tunni is a good one to mention, as although he is left foot forward, he actually sidehop to his left, if you ever look at his tuck when he goes over a rail or on a wall, you will see it is really weird and awkward.Really doesn't matter as long as it works, in the example of Tunni he was doing 50" sidehops, so might be wrong to everyone else but works perfectly well with him.
