bigamac
Erm... what cranks are they? But you have probably rounded them off.Cut a coke can up into small strips. Place them onto the BB axle and wedge the crank arm on and tighten up. Should work.I could explain in more detail but i can't be bothered to i'm sure someone else will. Jitters
Yep, just like he said. Search for a similar topic. It's been covered lots and I've used the soda can trick myself with good results.. Let us know how it turns out!
dirty-boi
I agree with Tappets and Bigamac. What crank is it? make, model, etc.Just so we know to avoid them if they break that quick.
Lord Banks
It's going to be the bolt that holds the crank on the axle which must be coming loose, the threads must have gone, you could try some loctite on the threads but on something as high-load as a crank this probably won't last for long.If you're lucky, it might just be the crank bolt thread that's stripped, you can pick them up for a couple quid from your lbs. If not, you'll need a new crank arm.

If not, you'll need a new crank arm. That's a possibility too for sure. Good point. Just be sure not to use the maximum strength loctite (or similar brand). Go for the medium duty stuff. The maximum strength is as advertised and could very well lead to the crank bolt becoming a permanent part of your bottom bracket. I know from experience. The more the bolt loosens the more the crank wobbles. The best temporary fix is to use a strip of coke can like already has been said. bigamac
Well you said there muscle man cranks. I got them at the moment and I am using the bodge. It will work if you do it right. It shouldn't push the coke can out if the strips are long enough it should make it a VERY tight fit.

JackC123
ULTIMATE n00b comment? If you had kept your head in your arse for a little bit longer I was waiting for a reply. If it's thinner its just got more chance of stripping again, hence why you use a coke or even pepsi can which is thicker.RAOTFLSHALBOWCO"Rolling around on the floor laughing so hard a little bit of wee came out"Go away n00b. A.Baxter
their onza muscleman cranks and its not te bb thread as ive only just bought a new 1 as i thought that was the problem by cutting strips of can???benI had the same problem with my set i ended up getting new cranks and bb which in the long run turned out better But i dont really have any help, the only way this can have happened is by riding with the crank loose, square taper cranks even when just slightly loose are very easy to do this with.Adam
dirty-boi
Another solution if its really bad is copper pipe.Trim a length, then using metal cutters slice it in half on one side, flatten it out into a sheet and use the same strip technique. It works exactly the same, but better than using loads of can strips if really bad.
