MadManMike
My mum got an Apollo ladies bike about 6 years ago, for the sum of £89.99. She hardly ever rode it and last year it was stolen along with my DMR. A couple of weeks later it was recovered and we picked it up, in a complete mess. This was the bike, 15 gears, rusty as hell and unusable. Moving to Malta, she asked me if I wanted it - my partner Hayley wanted a bike so I said yes.The transformation began. Commence sanding and stripping off all brakes, front gear mech, hanger guard, reflectors and any other useless cables and bolts:Apply first coat of paint to forks:...and to the rest of the front end:Chop off the front gear hanger, sand down the rear triangle and commence spray:RE-assemble the bike, spray the wheels and apply glittery skull dust caps...The End:(I have some neon pink V's to put on but other than that she's done!)Probably not that exciting but it kept me busy yesterday and she's happy with it

MadManMike
And my first ever attempt at painting Not a bad job, there's a few crap bits but generally it's not bad - it's a practice as I'm doing my forks white soon.

MadManMike
Not bad mate, should of sanded down the rear triangle and left it to rust, once rusted laquer over the rust.* im assuming its steel. That was actually the initial plan! After spraying the front I decided it would look good all black I might have to sand the back to make it rusty though. Pashley26
pah, thats not rat.Nor's that, it's spray on rust and forced rot in on the bug. It was in Ultra VW about 4 years ago and had it's own page on Hoodride before Dan ripped off a load of Mexicans, to get it to rot they painted it in Nitromo' and then poured Dr Pepper and Fanta all over it and left it for 8 months. MadManMike
I'd like to try this, but my bike is so shit it would never go back together again...There's a fair amount of bodges on this, trust me haha Trying to get the 7 year old rusty cheap components back on is part of the fun!Glen, the colour wasn't as nice in the flesh as it is in the photo - it had bare metal and white mixed in. NVWOCI WVS
That aint no rat bike. I don't think I have any photos of the rat chopper I built. 12" rear mag wheel, 27" front. 5'6" fork blades, seat from a ride-on lawnmower. Brakeless and freewheeling, so you had to drag your feet on the floor to slow down on hills. It was win
MadManMike
Odd topic to bump, but fair play.
