fruitbat
Right, I am currently (very slowly) gathering some trials for my first crack at a video. Anyone got any helpful tips on what you feel makes a good video or things that people often do to ruin a video and make if 'naff'. Bit I edited so far is only about a minutes worth but dont really look that good to me as it isCheersFrooty
Harris
Make sure the music you put in fits. Sometimes the music can properly wreck the feel of the video. Another is to make sure the clips arent repetetive, just a few clips from each spot ect.Tom
Captain Scarlet
Music is an important factor, choose a music track and then edit your clips to it.Its no use picking a slow paced song, to then find that once you've edited your footage in some sort of pace with the music, that you have a really boring and uninteresting video.I find that rock/metal is the best music to use, its a popular genre, usually has a good beat and a bit of variation to play with.If you've picked a good track and edited to it well, best thing to remember is simplicity, you don't need any fancy titles, and the only clip transitions you will need are a jump cut or a simple fade. Vimeo Video -> Original Video This is my favourite video I've made, although I've been editing for sometime, I like to keep my videos basic, rather than adding; titles, weird cutaways, wider variety of shot composition and other properties that more professional looking videos may incorporate.
