Video Editing

Right, I am currently (very slowly) gathering some trials for my first crack at a video. Anyone got any helpful tips on what you feel makes a good video or things that people often do to ruin a video and make if 'naff'. Bit I edited so far is only about a minutes worth but dont really look that good to me as it is

Cheers

Music is an important factor, choose a music track and then edit your clips to it.

Its no use picking a slow paced song, to then find that once you've edited your footage in some sort of pace with the music, that you have a really boring and uninteresting video.

I find that rock/metal is the best music to use, its a popular genre, usually has a good beat and a bit of variation to play with.

If you've picked a good track and edited to it well, best thing to remember is simplicity, you don't need any fancy titles, and the only clip transitions you will need are a jump cut or a simple fade.

Vimeo Video -> Original Video

This is my favourite video I've made, although I've been editing for sometime, I like to keep my videos basic, rather than adding; titles, weird cutaways, wider variety of shot composition and other properties that more professional looking videos may incorporate.
