forteh
Any cheap straight shank drill bit will do you, get down b&q When you say you only have wood ones, define wood ones.
Mr Motivator
Just go to a hardware shop and buy some HSS drills It's not rocket science. If you've never drilled metal before (which is the feeling I'm getting here), then are you really sure you want to start with your bike? Simpson
If you've never drilled metal before (which is the feeling I'm getting here), then are you really sure you want to start with your bike?I have some experience is drilling metal... I drilled a hole in my old bike but that wasn't the tidyest ever, but I'm planning to drill these holes sober, but need the right tools, I think the hammer drill was the downside to my evil plan last time. The bike seems like a good place to start to be honest, because if it goes wrong its only going to kill me?titanium holes?Na air hole?So any HSS drill bits? Jitters
Probably already know this, but remember to get a small drift (or punch) and make your starting dimples so your fancy new drill bits don't walk all over the place and make a nice job sloppy.Titanium holes, LOL
Muel
It's not worth it mate, you spend hours drilling and filing, and you end up with a bike that's maybe 300g lighter if you're lucky.Get lighter tyres and wheels.

Rich Pearson
Have a look around for some cobalt drill bits, should go through most things (disc rotors are probably the hardest material on a bike and my cobalt bits went through it fine)Rich
