Jitters
So I'm having a helluva time with backwheeling or anything related to getting the front up proper. Some things seem so much easier on the stock, but backhops are kicking my ass for some reason. Been practicing for days and days. I'm pretty tenacious too.Can a stem's length and angle really make much of a difference on getting onto the back wheel? I had it figured out on my mod pretty well, but now seems as though I am starting from scratch and can't manage anything substantial.I've noticed a tendency to keep my weight over the bars more than the mod too.I'll keep at it, but wanted some input. It's a V!Z, 110mm x 8 degree if I recall. Need any more details? Thanks for any constructive input!

Jitters
Ah right,Raven 7.0, Trialtech risers and one small spacer. Double checked the angle and it's more like 110mm and 15 degrees.
Matthew62
This is meant will all due respect but if you are a beginner then your current set-up (which sounds perfectly fine) will not really be holding you back. If you are in the process of learning trials moves for the first time then its more a matter of practice and technique - its certainly not worth replacing perfectly good parts in the hope to make the moves easier.Once you are fairly compitent on a bike and have figured out the direction in which you want to take your biking....i.e more streety, technical ,TGS, etc then stem/bars set-up comes in to play very much. If however, for now you are just getting to grips with riding then its a matter of patience. I mean a few years back we were all elarning on XC frames with 50mm stems so i wouldn't get concerned just yet.Watch lots of videos get inspired and try to learn from those who's riding you like. It will all come in time.
Jitters
No problem, I'd still consider myself a beginner. I think the frustration is coming from the fact that I had it figured out pretty good on my mod and now it's throwing me for a loop trying to get back to that spot on the stock. Maybe I was looking for a reason rather than the fact that I need to keep at it.Watching more videos is probably a good recommendation as I haven't been doing much of that lately. I'd like to get a camera so I can at least film myself trying it a few times so I can adjust my form or stance more. Thanks for the suggestions
Matthew62
Going from mod to stock will be a noticable differance. It will take time to get back to where you were (not too long).Remeber your body will have remebered how to do the move, you need to adapt and allow it to take over your brain. You DO have the ability to do it again just let it happen more unconsciously.
Greetings
If you need more opinions, I too think that your current setup is just fine. In fact, that stem and bar combination on a 7.0 should be pretty much perfect unless you're way over 6ft tall.
Jitters
Always open to any advice I wrote that when I was pretty frustrated and was looking for something to blame it on. I'll keep at it. Might borrow a video camera so I can at least see how the stance is from a distance. That may reveal something too. Maybe not getting me arse end over the rear wheel enough or something like that.I will say it seems to roll/lurch up and get over things with much less effort and getting the front tire onto high stuff (for me) seems way easier. Balancing skills have increased immensely with the switch. Thanks for your time!
Ali C
isn't the 7.0 a high bb? or was that the 8.0?

Jitters
Ha, figured it out tonight. Was the simplest thing - slight change in brake timing and ratcheting my choco foot forward, but so glad it finally clicked. Back on track now and time to start working on small gaps again. I'll figure this crap out one day! Thanks for the replies!Cheers!
