Andrex
Got a brand new chain, fitted it as you normally would. But it doesn't seem to be sitting on the teeth on the front chain ring. The chain links seem to be too long for it and won't sit on. It just skips along the top of the teeth. Does this mean I need a new bash or a different chain? The chain is a trialtech kmc kool and its on a middleburn super pro bash.Heres some pictures to help.Cheers. andyb
You bought the wrong pitch of chain by the looks of it.
shamus
does look like the pins might be catching on the bash and its holding the links away from the cog, try spacing the cog out if there is enough thread.or if its modstock it may be an issue of the gearing and chainstay length meaning the chain is a awkward length (happened once or twice while playing with ratio's on the bmx)
Muel
Theres only one pitch of chain for bikes? And those bashes can take a KHE collapse so it's not the width thats the problem. The teeth on the bash look knackered though, maybe they've worn too much with a stretched chain, and the gap between the pins on the new chain is shorter.Looks like you might have to get a new bash to me. LEON
Skanky ring syndrome. Your old skanky chain worked with your old skanky ring because they were both skanky, it's 1 or the other, replace the lot or nothingLeon

Muel
It's not the chain width that's the problem though Mike, mine fitted a collapse in fine, even if that's the widest Kool you can get I don't think it's any wider than a collapse.
