Jonny Jones
My current hosting runs out next month. I originally wanted to get a 1&1 Virtual Server, had issues with it, canceled the contract and now upon re-evaluating my finances I don't think I can afford to go for a V.S. So basically I would like some advice, if possible, on which web host is best. I know most are pretty much the same, but Im fairly sure some are better than others in terms of server up-time, customer support, CP's etc. I stumbled on http://www.justhost.com - and was immediately drawn to the package on the homepage, unlimited everything for not much money at all! Upon chatting to the online advisor, it seems there's no fair usage policy either! Too good to be true? Great package by the looks of things too and unlimited domain hosting (I have 3 or 4). http://www.streamline.net also looks good but only gives you the choice of one domain, unless you want to pay £99 a year.So does anybody have any other suggestions? Any replies would be much appreciated!Cheers, Jonny.
Danny
2 Pieces of advise i've learnt over the years.1) Avoid anything that contains the word 'unlimited' in the webspace and bandwidth columns.2) Never buy your domain from your hosting company always get it from somewhere like domainmonster.com, 123reg.co.uk then you have full control of it not them. Danny
Who kind of space/bandwidth requirements do you have? And what's your budget?
Jonny Jones
Who kind of space/bandwidth requirements do you have? And what's your budget?Erm no more than 20GB of space, 1TB (absolute max) of bandwidth. Don't wanna spend more than like £10 a month. Papa Manual
http://www.streamline.netStreamline completely shafted me when i was hosting videos 4/5 years ago. Their fair use policy was ridiculously unfair and I had people with broadband complaining of download speeds of 2 - 3 KB/s. Come to think of it, nearly every host shafted me, but most had the courtesy to tell me first.
