Wrayvon
It's not THAT similar. And also, Gary Glitter had pictures of children with no clothes on or something, pretty different! That's true but so do a lot of things which CAN be taken apart without problem. But hard drives are waaay more sensitive than other electronics. How do you know I don't? Ok that really wasn't funny was it....*Goes to get my coat*
craigjames
Its a waste of your postage, there is no way the drive would sustain damage like you've described from normal use. it'll be obvious you've knocked it over.I actually worked in the staore where old GG got caught, just a normal healthcheck, when you open up internet explorer to do some tests and in the history you find the websites he was looking at you dont need to dig too hard. He isnt a very intelligent man i'll put it that way.
davey1991
I'm sure its also illegal for them to look through your personal files without permission aswell, similar to docotor patient confidentiality?User, Hard drive confidentiality. But still i stick by my previous statement.HAMMER
anzo
I'm sure its also illegal for them to look through your personal files without permission aswell, similar to docotor patient confidentiality? They will need to look through the files to ensure they're not currupt. It's not illegal. When they perform the data recovery they will clone the hard drive onto a new drive. What is illegal is to keep a 3rd copy of the data which they keep for themselves - this will breach the Data Protection Act.
Tomm
They're not going to go to the hassle of data recovery though (They're going to take one look at the drive and throw it in the bin, telling you to f**k off ).
trials_pimp
Surley though if its just full of music videos and photos they will not look into how you got the files, just that they are your personal files and you would like to save themUnless its full of child porn, Beatiality or gang rape you should be ok. Wrayvon
Just films. Just shy of 700 I think though
JD™
Just films. Just shy of 700 I think thoughIt's legal to download a copy of a film that you own... Who are they to know that you don't own the 700 films? Doubt they'll go to the trouble to find out. I wouldn't expect them to recover your data though, just send you a drive if anything at all. Wrayvon
Fair enough. Well they sent me an email saying they'd recevied it, and that testing would take up to 5-7 days. So I guess we'l see
