my yellows in cnc backings where 10 times better on smooth rim without tar and this was with a white try all rim, and then i grinded my rim, they made a loud noise but no hold, just slipped on everything.. so yeah for smooth rims... but at the moment i have a very dead grind with a tad bit of tar and they are working a treat, so try that..

I put my yellows onto a month old grind and the bite and noise is incredible (well the noise gets a bit annoying aftewr 30 seconds) they slipped a couple of times but nothing major, theyve now had about 10 hours of riding and bedded in nicely they havent slipped on me since.

What grind have you got? Mines far from harsh but it still works really well. Maybe give the pads and the grind time to wear in together, should get better :)

Tried a booster? Maybe your frame has cracked round the brake mounts and allowing it to spread more than normal.

If you say so...

All the koxx bloxx and crocos, rock blues and greens, heatsink yellows, anything for smooth, Coust, CRMs. You're not spoilt for choice!

Perhaps i should of made myself a little clearer, 90% of pads don't work on a try-all rim with a grind, well, thats atleast how i found it when i ran one.

I think you just need to be careful what pads you use. Coust pads, CRMs, Rock Blues and Greens all work pretty well, but I can see where you're coming from, an Echo rim for instance will work with any pad in my experience.

I think 90% is a bit high though, maybe 50/50.

same problem here with them.

lots of noise (which i hate) and not enough hold. although to some people they will say the standard of hold is pretty good. didnt improve with a fresh grind either....

croco browns in cnc backings on now.

Hold is not good enough for natural......and now because of this i cant ride :(

Found Crocos to be good to start off with, having more bite than old Browns but slightly less hold.

However their perfomance seemed to deteriorate, even after a fresh grind they lost hold and bite. This happened on at least 2 peoples bikes.

Was that just the browns or the yellows aswell? My Heatsink yellows seem great, but they don't hold as well as I'd like and they make my ears hurt, they are really deafening and I think they wind up the neighbours when I ride in my back garden. :(

The bite is perfect though, utterly insane, just how I like it. :P
