Krisboats
lmao, sorry guys :$ You should really be more observant, just because i'm interested in how times change. Especially seeing as prawny said theres no need for anything wider than a d521
Davetrials
ready used to sware by the f**kers and did nothing but bad mouth "cheese rims" they are wank though 521 ***
Prawny Baby
Just out of curiosity what rim do you have now prawn?im afraid im using an onza ronnie these days.....ive tried the whole super wide koxx rim deal, and its not for me. i still swear by the D521, and still reckon its the strongest rim there is! its just not practical these days for most frames.although i have no intention of going wider thanmy ronnie:D521 ***!!!!! munkee
521's cant hack the big tyres from what i found anything around 2.3 upwards just rolls all over the place on the back with a d521.

matt! Seriously, they are better than everyone makes out. But, make sure you get an 06 version as they are far superior to the older versions (smaller holes, thicker sidewalls, and they hold grinds better, for some reason). Cheers,Joe. Cheers,Joe.koxx 07 rims are even better thicker side walls than the 06 rim, smaller holes, i love mine If you read the replies you'd notice that i brought it back up because i was interested in finding out how peoples views have changed. Things like that interest me for some reason, i like the use of hindsight. Like people not wanting to put SMS functionality on mobiles because they thought nobody would use it, and the way IBM didnt buy out microsoft because they thought it would be a worthless investment (in the early days they could have bought it for something like 6 million, now its net income is f**king hundreds of times more than that)I wondered if your views would be swayed prawny, but howcome exactly wouldnt you want a wider rim. If the new 07 echo rim turns out as strong as people are saying it should be why wouldnt you want a rider rim?
N.Wood
Haha, the first thing i noticed was Simon's grammar/spelling/punctuation/txt talk!Is there any question to answer anymore? Sorry to make this seem like a pointless post.
Prawny Baby
I wondered if your views would be swayed prawny, but howcome exactly wouldnt you want a wider rim. If the new 07 echo rim turns out as strong as people are saying it should be why wouldnt you want a rider rim?well im prefectly happy with my ronnie for now.....the new echo 07 rims are WAY heavyier than a 521, which is still obviously the best rim ever.when i get the chance ill be drilling my ronnie out further.back on the BT proto frame, i had a ronie drilled out with 1'' holes, which weighed around 650g, yet lasted me a whopping 9 months of large drops and dropgaps!when i get round to it ill be drilling out my current ronnie/reggie rims more to shed some weight!521's cant handle the big tyres anymore though, and now trials has progressed and people are doing so many HUGE moves, the bigger tyres are needed.
