Head Tube ?

hi there i have a zona zip and its a bit on the heavy side would it weaken my frame if i cut a hole in the head tube ???

Yes because you are removing metal, but if you want to risk it go ahead but i wouldnt remove any metal from my frame.

I wouldnt worry about weakening that frame, its strong as heck, even though it is heavy. How are you planning to cut the hole?

It will make no difference at all, it only saves about 25g, and when the frame itself is 2300g it really doesn't matter.

If you got a lighter frame you could easily save 500-1000g.

I have NEVER seen any frame fail because of a hole in the headtube.

ive cut out the head tube of my onza t-pro and various other parts

(cut off bash gaurd mounts and use a bash ring instead) etc

and its made a HUGE diference
