Sponge
It'd be great if a store like Tartybikes could find out from all their stocking brands on the warranty for their parts.Maybe some sort of warranty page for each company detailing which types of components have X amount of years/months warranty, and if it's possible to get some kind of discount on crash replacement. It's a bit unfair not letting people know the warranty times. For those that don't know, Deng frames are a full year's warranty at least back in '06 it was. I doubt it's changed thoughShame about your forks! Though, I'm not surprised that they snapped there, since the magura mounts welded on locate a lot of the stress there.
Greetings
I cant believe they have snapped in that place usually they snap at the top.http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/1271169/ (not my bike)Yeah, but it's better if they snap on the stanchions. It's much easier to carry your bike home then. I've had forks snap in both places and carrying a bike in 3 pieces (as is the case with a broken steerer) is a real pain in the arse especially when all the pieces are connected with hydraulic cables. If you have an Echo SL hub and a broken SL fork, an interesting optical feature can be noticed. You can observe the funbolt washer through the stanchion. The washer has Echo logos all round and since it's drilled, the Ti screw which also has an Echo logo on it is visible. It sounds daft, but that sight is much more breathtaking than herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the African plains.

A.Baxter
you, plenty of people are breaking them, but you can't expect competition oriented components to last long. Stick with KOXX, META, or Trialtech if weight is not a concern.Have u ever picked up koxx forks ? They weigh NOTHING and they also do snap alot :| But yeh trialtechs are very strong Adam can anyone please find me the trials video of a guy with somthig wrong with his wrist, its like deurable wrist damage, need to find it, he has somthing wrong with is wrist, is all i knowIs it that video of TRA ? Muel
They've pushed it too far with them, I think you'd last longer with a set of Dob forks!
Mtchell
running disc brake so no stress from maggies just weak by the looks of it . If you had seen what caused them to snap you wouldn't believe it they just folded and broke off like dough couldo't believe it my self
Simpson
I remember me an Bess on the train to the big London ride pissing ourselves at how massivly flexy Maher forks were, even track standing leaning forwards you could feel the forks flexing and ping'ing back. They were total jokes, my DOB's were fine.

If you had seen what caused them to snap you wouldn't believe it they just folded and broke off like dough couldo't believe it my selfWell they obviously were already cracked, and probably only hanging together from the sound of it. I wouldn't bother with any other Deng forks. The Gu's will be stronger, but for a little more money you can get Trialtechs. My current trialtechs have lasted over 3 times longer than any current Deng fork, they are much stronger

Bigman
My 26inch koxx forks were VERY good, lasted me longer than my Atomz forks did! Adam
Shaun H
It seems to me that the main problem with Deng forks atm is the material, it must be a pretty cheap grade of 6061 for people to be breaking them so quickly!
wally
Mine went last night, was doing a fairly big gap up to front. Somehow i managed to put my feet down on the other side to save my face and brake cable. Oh well back to my trusty old zoo forks until disk only trial tech forks are in stock
Alex Dark
i run viz now.....never looked back; far stiffer then urbans or pures.
Muel
Which are stiffer, Viz or Trialtech? Thinking replacing mine soon, they're so flexy. (Echo somethings, the 07 silver curved ones. The light ones.)

(Echo somethings, the 07 silver curved ones. The light ones.)Much the same. I'd go with trialtech though, they do have a slight edge, and are so f**king solid, but not massively heavy. I'll be getting some when tarty have them back in stock.Edit - Controls Edited April 15, 2009 by The Duck
