onza boi15
Hi, just thinking about my next bike, whether to get a G.U or a Monty.I would just like to know your thoughts on witch one is better. Thanks, jack
Muel
Neither, they're completely different bikes. Gus are heavy, long low, strong street bahsing sleds, Montys are short, high, light, weak competition bikes. What kind of riding do you do? Daveee
It's more wich one you prefer then wich one is better. If you ride alot of street then you would go with a bike like a GU, but if you ride natural montys would be a better choice.
JackC123
Hi, just thinking about my next bike, whether to get a G.U or a Monty.I would just like to know your thoughts on witch one is better. Thanks, jack So you are thinking on getting a bike, yet you are asking others what they think you should get/what they prefer. It's you going to be riding it not them, so you ride street or natural?

DannyBaz
I used to ride a Monty on Natural and street, and it was a good, all round bike. You just have to be careful not to land on the frame too much, as they are quite weak. Also, I have rode a GU and they were extremely nice to ride, but only rode it lightly on street for a about 10-15 minutes, bu tit was a very nice bike. So, like you said you like street more, I would go for the GU. They are strong, and look very nice with a set of coloured rims on Danny
Stump
Thats a hard choice there mate. Monty's are really nice riding bikes for both street and natural riding but they are more for natural and competition rather than street. If you land on the frame they tend to dent more easily and are made from a lighter material the make them light and easy to throw around. They are also quite short aswell.I know two people who ride monty 221 pr's and they both are cracked atfer a short while of riding (A year and a Half) and my other mate cracked his in 3 places ( After 2 years of riding the Monty) and I also know some one else who had a Monty 221 Ti but snapped it .I also know two other people who have both had GU TP 08's and they both were very nice to ride street on. But they are much stronger and heavier than the monty's and are a fair bit longer than the Monty's aswell. But one of my mates cracked his GU TP 08 5 months atfer getting it but he is a really good rider at that .In my opinion I would go for the Monty 221 Pr. Even though I said all of that about the Monty's but they are shorter and much easier to throw around. But If you do want a strong frame and rather street I would go for the GU TP 08. And they also look really nice with coloured rims But personally I would rather have the Monty. It will be a hard choice between those two frames but thats just a little bit of help on picking .Thanks Darren

jsc
Also depends how much you want to spend. Buying new or second hand? Full monty's are £500ish for the 219? then there seems to be a big jump up to £1000 +. Are GU's built to spec? If so it will be more flexible for your wallet!
