Mr_scott
I love this debate, because it's so simple in my mind.Trials should be like this - Trials-Forum Video -> Full View • Download • Upload Trials shouln't be like anything, if this is all you see as personal inspiration then you are very blind of a whole beauty of other talant under the sport of biketrials.Trials is obviously becoming a mix of other sports, just use everything as inspiration and ride your own trials.I love this debate, because it's so simple in my mind.Trials should be anything, but just remember, what ever you do, don't walk away until it's a clean. Gaz Meredith™
TGS isn't shit, it plays a very vital role of making the truly innovative and talented riders look even more amazing no kris, rider's as wank and arrogant as you make everyone else look amazing kid.-whys everyone argueing like your all getting paid for riding or something it makes ride's interesting when youve got a few different styles about, i cant say i like doing the spinnin stuff, but id deffinately rather have someone doing that on a ride along with comp riders AND tgs riders, than just pure tgs people to watch same goes for just a buncha people spinnin around off a 2 foot wall doing manual's, it all gets boring unless you have a mixture.trials wont go anywere until everyone stops being childish and just appreciate's each other, its not about how big or how creative a line is. its spotting it, how much practise its taken and how happy you are with yourself for perseveiring and pushing and landing it in the end, you know the feeling of successfully making something from nothing? feels good right, so why cant everyone be congradulated for it whether its on the rocks, at the skatepark or outside sainsburys!how i see it anyway
Krisboats
no kris, rider's as wank and arrogant as you make everyone else look amazing kid.I'm gonna let you in on a well known internet secret. Sticky out tongue smiley at the end of a trolling sentence denotes intended humour, in this case sarcasm. Maybe you've been on myspace too much (light hearted joke... seeing as your new to this, kid).

Tomm
Ha, served. Fully deserved though. I don't really care what people ride, if they like TGS then fine. But it's like Ali said - it's such a small part of riding bikes it seems a bit strange to limit yourself to one move (sidehops). My image of TGS is people queuing up beside a completely plain flat wall and taking it in turns at sidehops. I can't shake the feeling that practising sidehops is like training for the Olympics pole vault or something. Trials bikes are specialised so much that there is basically a type of bike that is made for sidehopping (long, high BB) and people seem to train for hours just to get an extra few millimetres. It's so arbitrary in the grand scheme of things. When I started riding trials, I liked it because it was a kind of an extreme/alternative sport. Whereas TGS just reminds me of lycra-wearing gimps jumping over a bar. Sure, sidehops are kind of impressive to the average person, but you still look like a gimp. But whatever, if that's what you enjoy, go for it.

I think not.Like i said, i do more than just three moves:Static up to front wheel to wheelswapRolling pedal up to front wheelSidehop to backwheelSidehop to two wheelsSidehop to rollTap 90Tap to manualGap to front wheel to wheelswapHookI could go on all day, your all gonna argue the fact that the vast majority of moves i have just listed, involve the word "tap, gap or sidehop" and it just shows, that trials is what it states it is in them few moves. For those of you who wanna' bring Bmx in to the sport (The one type of riders who despise us so much) then you go ahead Edited April 8, 2009 by Otacon
monkeyseemonkeydo
I honestly don't have a clue what Onza are thinking sponsoring a rider with such bad attitude. And I find it really quite amusing that you're on the same team as people like Andrei Buuton, Joe Seddon and Scott Wilson to name a few.Edit: Actually, I've just been on Onza.com and you're not mentioned so maybe I'm making this up.Edit 2: Ok, I know the story now and your not with Onza. I think not.I never said I want to change how you ride. As with most things in life my attitude is - if you like something, do it and enjoy it. And yeah, I was contradicting myself a bit by saying that TGS riders only do sidehops. But there are a few who seem to concentrate on sidehops, and that is basically what I was talking about. So I wasn't really talking about your riding, no need to get shirty! But would I be right in saying that you could happily ride all day on a single wall that slopes from being 1ft to 5ft? Shaun H
lol, opening up a whole new can.I don't mind the act of TGS, but its more the whole image of tight jeaned, straight haired, sometimes abusive riders and so on.PLEASE don't jump down my throat, I realize that most TGS riders are nice mild mannored people. It maybe unfortunate that from the videos I have seen and the rides I have been on with a few people (not naming anyone) that the TGS image comes across like that to some.I also realize that you get abusive people at comps, but they are caught up in the competition, not telling old people to "f**k off" because they were asked nicely to not ride on a wall next to the old persons car.no kris, rider's as wank and arrogant as you make everyone else look amazing kid.hahaha a well known secret? thats a first, read the bolloks you put before you try to be clever you twat.LOL
Luke Rainbird
Seats are for gays who like things up their ass [/TGS]To me, "TGS" is now less about the riding and more about the (shit) attitude of a large proportion of this community.Trials Yobs, anyone?
