sstein
Sorry this is a retarded question but just to make sure:Is a euro bb a 68mm mtb type bb?
LEON
I "think" euro is the thread size/type. 68-73 is just the width of the shell, they'll both take the same bb's.In the uk we all use euro bb. If its for a Marino frame then yes you ask for euroLeon Edited April 2, 2009 by LEON

Most certainly got a faster answer if he did use google.I didn't mean to sound like a complete willy, just a li'l bit xD

davey1991
Euro BB in bmx terms don't have threads, there like headsets there press in. This may be different for other things though. The Euro bit signifys the size of the acctual bearing, theres euro, spanish just to name a few.Theres a topic on the "other" forum, explaining it.Heres a link.http://www.bmx-forum.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=3019I'm not sure if this is what your looking for but i hope it helps in some way. This is an example of what i mean although looking i have seen threaded euro bb's.http://www.alansbmx.com/product_info.php?c...roducts_id=2270

The bearings will either be 19 or 22mm ID.
sstein
First of all I did search google, but found mainly products not answers (crc sucks at spec details).I am pretty sure that euro is 68mm english threads, but I just wanted a second opinion before I had two frames made with the wrong type of bb.As for it being the size of bearing that is not quite true. There are many types of bmx bb (usa, spanish, mid, euro) and they all use the same two inner diameter of bearing i.e. either 19mm or 21mm (I think). The type of BB refers to not just the outer beaing diameter, but also bb width and installation style, e.g. press fit, standard thread or reverse thread.I know I pretty much answered my own question, I just wanted to check with other people before marino builds my frames.
