sayshell
Ok I know their has been a thread on this and ironically i started reading it and figured it would never happen and decided not to finish. I tried searching for it but their are a billion threads on hs-33s and i cant remember the title.. anyways...i push down on the lever and each time i push the lever has to be pushed down slightly furthur before the brakes engage. Its the one where you have to keep tightening the tpa. Using my excellent power of deduction I concluded either fluid is leaking, or air is somehow getting in. Since I can't see any fluid leaking I am guessing its something to do with the tpa cause people say not to use it, and the problem originated from having the tpa pushed out pretty far. Anyways, what is the problem and remedy? can i just switch master cylinders? Any help is apprectiated thanks!
staphan
I suppose you have checked that the brake cylinders don't move outwards when you push the lever?
Muel
Check all the fittings are tight, do a bucket bleed, check the slaves aren't slipping in the mounts, check you havn't stripped the threads out of the TPA.If the slaves are slipping, try getting new C clips, I'm not certain but I think you can get the metal Echo ones seperate now? They work brilliantly apparantly.
Mr Motivator
Be 100% sure about not having a fluid leak. The most common place is for the hose to split around the barbed fitings on the crossover or where the main hose meets the slave cylinder. Have you recently bled it or had the hoses out? I remember a long time ago easily crossthreading a hose fitting and it leaked becuase of that.
sayshell
well the clynnders are definetly not slipping in the frame. Its really weird. You know how when their is air in your system their is a gap when you push the lever then suddenly the pads move and their is resistance on the lever? It doesn't feel like that, it feels like the cylinders are sliding back in the mounts but I am sure they aren't. I bleed the brake today an hour ago. I didn't change any of the hoses though, just put in new fluid. I am not 100% sure they aren't leaking.O wait you were right. I tightened the tpa all the way and squeezed the lever super hard. the right slave is leaking on the crossover. I tightened the nut really hard and it doesn't seem to be leaking anymore even when i push the lever very hard. Should I bother to replace anything or just rebleed the brake and assume it will be ok? The brake is very new and I would have assuemd they made it tight enough when i bought it, but maybe not.
