Hi,

All

I m looking for a new tyre.

which type it s better for trial?

Think the front one should be Mountain King 2.2" ,rear one Continental Rubber Queen 2.4" or Continental Mountain King 2.4" ??

Mountain King 2.4 it s lighter than Queen 2.4,but i m afraid will pop tubes everyday....

Any advices,fair away

thanks

Another vote for the rubber queen, Im using one with a normal tube and havent pinched it yet. I need to run at higher pressures to stop the tyre rolling off the rim (20 psi instead of 15) but this doesnt seem to affect grip atall, the black chilli compound is amazing :)

If youre concerned about the pinches use a thick tube as muel said or look at one of the conti rain kings that nick wood has been testing.

wait for a de kasier or rain king, they kick ass over the rubber queens! I found the rubber queen to lack grip, deffo not as grippy as maxxis!

Also I really dislike mountain kings for the front, stick with a maxxis or try-all.

Stick with maxxis. no problems at all, they offer the best grip / puncture / weight resistance combo around.

maxxis minion with standard tube is not far different in weight from a conti tyre with a DH tube in it.

also the conti's are expensive as buggery

maxxis are going up too, they will both be around the same price soon.

Also, Conti de kasier and rain king have even better grip/ puncture resistance/ weight than maxxis, so there! :P don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I swear by maxxis now i use them on all my bikes, I would say a 2.5 highroller or rear minnion on the back as they have 2 ply caseing for downhill so they hold up alot more. You can also get them in differant compounds for maxium grip/wear.

The Contis are far bouncier though and give more "feel" if you ask me. A rubber queen with a Maxxis DH Lite tube weighs 1127g, whilst a 2.5 dual ply minion with a welterweight tube weighs 1420g, which is a massive difference!

The Rubber Queens last forever aswell, I've had mine for 6 months and it's hardly worn at all! (I think it's been 6 months, bought it off Ali actually).

The only downside to the rubber queen I've found is that the sidewalls will wear out before the tread, mine are quite scuffed now. (This doesn't mean they wear out fast, it's just that the tread doesn't appear to wear because it's the black chilli fancy compound)

So if you're smooth and run a fairly hard tyre pressure, get the Rubber Queen. If you are a basher and weight doesn't bother you, get Maxxis.

thanks, guys

so i think the qubber queen is a good tire for light ways, but it s does n't good for use longer.

Anyway, light and strong are mutually exclusive...But i think queen qubber is a good together,i hope so
