catman-al
HI am new to trials and was thinking of getting a brake booster for my mod , but i don't know wether i should go for a 2 bolt or 4 bolt booster.
Dan6061
4 bolt boosters are usually stiffer, making the brake feel more solid. Added weight though. Do you really need a booster though? Try setting your brake up so the pads hit the rim perfectly flat, if the frame still flexes, then get a booster.I say if it flexes a lot, get a 4bolt, if it's only flexing a little, get a 2 bolt. George.E
I would say 2 bolt as there a tiny bit lighter.

DannyBaz
Come on, whats about 10-20g? Go for a 4 bolt, they look nicer, and are much sturdier and stop the frame flexing more than 2 bolts which don't really stop it flexing at all, depending on which one you buy. Dave Anscombe
Seriously a 2 bolt trial tec booster eliminates flex
siyross
If you are using V brakes then you can only fit a 2 bolt booster anyway. Get the best you can. A 4 bolt booster is going to be a lot stiffer than a 2 bolt one
joshlyd1
when i had my magura brakes i had a 2 bolt and a 4 bolt boosters on it it was really good , ''if you dont care about a couple of grams ''
Muel
I'd get a 2 bolt, 4 bolts take more of the bite away in my experience.
catman-al
Thanks for the advice guys. Am going to go for a two bolt as there isn't alot of flex.
mike-dyson
I've got a 4 bolt booster but I've only got 2 bolts in it, works really well i just need some bolts and spacers!
Echo-Scott
Ive recently just bodged some of those wee tiny magurs boosters to fit onto my mod. Got them front and back and i must say, They are doing just as good as my old Echo Team booster and that thing is massive. So i reckon a 2 bolt will be great in most cases. gage-mann
i found a two bolt booster easyier to deal with and the brake just felt the same as it did with a 4 bolt. i had used a two bolt ZHI booster and a 4 bolt echo booster, both are very good
Ali C
I found no noticeable difference in feel between a 2bolt and 4bolt booster.I am currently using a Trialtech carbon booster and its REALLY stiff! I would always recommend a booster even if you have a stiff frame, the improved brake hold is worth it for sure! Plus its harder to break the cross over. bigamac
I will depend on what frame you have to what difference it will make because each frame gives a different amount of flex.
