Posted March 31, 2009 Report Share Posted March 31, 2009 There's nothing wrong with just riding and letting them bed in as you ride.It does speed up the process to throw some water over the rotors once or twice but it's not a must. Muel Posted March 31, 2009 Report Share Posted March 31, 2009 It's called bedding in, and there are several ways to do it, I've always found I get best results just by leaving it, but at first they'll be so shite you can't really.You can use mud, just smear it round the rotor and ride around with the brake on for a bit, then wash it all off with a pressure washer/spray hose and let it dry.I'd recommend just using water though, it takes a lot more effort but gives better results, just check a load on, ride around with the brakes dragging, then chuck a load more on and repeat until they're working well enough to just leave them and ride it, you'll soon find they're working brilliantly.
