ZHI_Chris
Today, I got a news from a chinese trials forum. The ECHO new freewheels are available in early April in China with extremely low prices. 12 pounds for 72 points freewheel, and 108 points freewheel just 22 pounds.I was so surprised that a 72 point ECHO freewheel is cheaper than ACS.ECHO claims that the break even point is 3000 units. That means that ECHO have to sell 3000 freewheels in China to cover the initial cost, without any profit. However, there may be no more than 2000 biketrial players in China. What do you think about it? Well ECHO be successful on this event? And what's more important for you, price or quality?
JT!
Will that be £12 and £22 in shops, or prices in that country?I'm doubtful about the quality and how long they'll last.
JonMack
Well... let's hope they're reliable and cheap.

totaltrials
I knew one was coming out this year but I haven't heard anything about them yet. It's likely the freewheels will be modeled around other reliable decent freewheels from other brands which looks like it'll use a custom Echo BB tool. For that kind of price it's not likely to be anything hugely different from what's already available just with a lower cost and a better tool fit. If the reliablity is half decent then at those prices you can't go wrong. But I wouldn't expect them to actually retail at £12. If they're under £30 retail and are reasonably reliable then it should be a good product.
JT!
These are the prices in China. But the prices in China are low compared to what they sell for here. You can get ZHI frames for £40 in China. So they'll probably end up being 3 times more when they reach the uk.If they are actually decent, people might buy them, but they're 2 or 3 years late really. Back in the day when there was only the eno and acs to choose from these kind of freewheels would have fitted into the trials market perfectly and sold loads. But now, there's like 4 or 5 different freewheels to choose from, and all the other re branded versions. Edited March 30, 2009 by JT! For most of parts, which are made in China, the sale price in China are much lower. Like frames, forks. But freewheels in China are more expensive than UK. Such as ENO, monty, try-all. scottcj9
At that price id buy one, my ACS has been running a year its completely shot but it still works so if for the same price you can buy an echo freewheel why not, all other echo stuff is reliable
Rusevelt
At those prices, it would seem that these freewheels will be just as unreliable as the first batch of deng freewheels that came out here few years ago. We can only hope that the materials used for the internals are alot more reliable this time round.

Greetings
These are the prices in China.Well, that's a piece of information all of us will find useful.JT - The Monty design or Try-All freewheels are made in Taiwan.
totaltrials
Well, that's a piece of information all of us will find useful.JT - The Monty design or Try-All freewheels are made in Taiwan. But they need to be shipped to Spain and France before they can be shipped back to China at a much higher price through monty or try-all. Unless somebody sneaks a few off the production line and sells them in their local supermarket.
Captain Scarlet
Yeah but those freewheels are all Europe based.ENO is American. =D
