Brake Bleeding.

I'm buying a new bike tomorrow and it needs a rebleed I've never bled a brake before I just payed to have it done but to prevent wasting £30 or whatever it is, do I need some kind of special bleeding kit to do this or could I just use something similiar to a syringe?

And btw, I've checked a few pages of Wiki & FAQ.

Thanks,

Df.

hiyya, i take it your reffering to bleeding maggura HS33. Well you can either get yourself a syringe from somewhere... i got mine from a vet, some rubber tube and a spare nipple. :) or you could get yourself the full kit from www.tartybikes.co.uk for about £20. If your a real trialser you shouldn't need to send your bike to the shops B) . just have a go using the guide on the wiki part of the forum. If you mess up then you will no for next time. it can take a bit of practice but they really arn't that complicated and there is very little you can break if your careful. hope this helps, good luck (Y)

He means the barbed fitting, you can buy them individually from tarty I believe.

If youre going to water bleed (recommended really) then you dont need a bleed kit, just take the brake off the bike and bath bleed it - instructions are in the wiki :)
