Polyphasic Sleeping.

Does sound like a cool idea, would love to get into a habit of it.

Only trouble is that if I did, I would have nothing to fill that time at nights inbetween naps (and surely if you do have a lot going on then its hard to get into the routine).

I don't think its beneficial over traditional night time sleep, if it did lead for you to be more productive and healthier, then I bet there would be animals doing it.

I was just thinking, what do you do between say 3-8am, when there's no one around? I understand that having extra time in the day is useful, but what's the point if you're just sat around watching films for 5 hours, you could just learn to live on 6 hours sleep like Tomm mentioned (which is something I'm gonna start trying to do again, 2-8am every day would be nice).

Interesting.

I for one, can NOT sleep during day light hours unless I am VERY tired. If I have a day off I will sometimes sleep solid to about 12:00 mid-day, but I can never fall asleep once I'm awake during the day.

I don't think I would find enough things do to with all that free time, especially in the early mornings. No-one else would be awake, you would have to make friends with an American, and no-one wants to do that, so you can phone him up and chat in the early hours of the morn.

Try sleeping pills? Or just get into a night time routine before you go to bed. Not being able to sleep is just one big mind-fu**.

I love reading.

I make electronic music (can get VERY time consuming, when you get into it).

I like drawing.

I want to improve at all of the above.

I really should learn to cook at some point.

...etc...

I have lots of things I could do - I guess I'm just trying to cram too much into a usual days' routine :P

theres a strong link with taking naps through the day and problems like heightened risk of diabetes and heart disease etc.

hormone levels are messed about with when you take naps. so you might get probs with metabolism

if you says it makes you feel healthier then great, but i dont think were "meant" to sleep through the day

2 till about 6 is often my favourite and most productive time. But i guess it depends what kinda hobbies your into i guess. Being awake all night all the time would sure improve my graff game :P Then theres just drawing, driving places to take photos, listening to music, mixing music, reading etc. It's also quite fun to chip to the skatepark in that kinda hour, especially on warm summer nights when it's so hot in the day. You see alot of interesting/funny things if your sober on the streets in those hours. I honestly don't think i'd get bored.
