Rob_P
First year most people go into halls which is sorted by the uni or go into the rather over priced unite buildings. In the first year I was in a flat of 7 people, get a room with en-suite and a shared kitchen. Would of been a right laugh if you get good flat mates but 3 of mind couldn't speak english and the rest were boring as pig shit. Tis about £100 a week though so not cheap, theres 3 unite buildings in ply, some better and closer than others, search google for their site. Then after that find some pals and move into a house yalllll

Hobnobs
If you're going for halls, try and get into francis drake, im in them at the mo and they are so much nicer than the others. Pretty much brand spank, im pretty sure this is the first year theyve been lived in, but they are 98 a week for a standard room. The others all smell funny. Rich Pearson
Anyone there atm who can gimme some help?rob p?Oh and is anyone at falmouth by any-chance?I'm at Falmouth University Dave, although I study at the Tremough Campus and live in Penryn (google it, it does make sense, honest). My house cost's me about £70 a week (no bills inc), and as far as I know from mates, Halls are about £90 a week (all inclusive).Thinking of making a move?Rich

Rich Pearson
Certainly am, whats the night life like in falmouth?Personally I love it, theres lots of very different quirky pubs and bars, Remedies and Shades are the only two real clubs (they're not exactly Oceana or Pacha but I'm not really fussed about massive places like that. Youtube vid of "Porn Night" in remedies should give you a vague ideaPorn Night). Me and everyone from my course have been doing full on nights out once a week since september and have never got bored, theres something for everyone really. You've got me on Facebook havn't you Dave? Have a browse through my pics, pretty much all of the pics of me on the piss or clearly on a night out are taken in Falmouth (should be a couple of me shoulder deep in bubbles at the remedies foam party last year).'Tis a good old place, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world.Rich

Rich Pearson
As I said Halls on campus are £90 a week all in I think, and the rooms are pretty nice (usually about six rooms to a flat with a shared kitchen, on suit in each room, lots of space). A lot of my mates live on campus and its a sort of doubled edged sword: on the one hand, its great having that 'Animal House' feeling of being a proper student, living in halls, playing drinking games around the kitchen table every evening, etc, etc, but on the other hand theres a lot of restrictions. Porters patrol every night for security reasons but they do hand out fines for noise violations, etc, etc, which can get pretty ridiculous, whereas I live in a shared house in town which was built about 800 years ago out of granite, so can happily play Metallica at full volume until 4am and not distrub anyone, and you also feel a bit more independant and basically more like a grown up, which for some is ok but others just prefer to have a blast for three years (not that I'm not, but some people just don't give a f**k and are clearly at uni for the experience rather than to actually learn anything). The average in Penryn and Falmouth is around £300-£350 a month all in, and you can find listings for places here.Hope that helps.Rich
shamus
there are loads of options at plymouth (can often depend on courses as they tend to almost group these)whats your budget?Gillwell is ghetto, mental fun, cheapest option i think? most of my mates lived there last year, its the party hall.robbins/pilgrim and a few others are very similar with little to differentiate between them, maybe ensuites can't really remember.oh and the unite ones are better run but way over-pricedyou'll probably best in halls for the first year, usually it isn't too intense so you can party and enjoy yourself more.second year go for a student house with mates, there are tonnes of these! better to work and more relaxed!
