Muel
Yep, you need a new rim.If someone says get Tensile Offset mounts, don't. I've heard it said so many times, but they only give extra spacing outwards, not inwards because the bit on the slave where the fitting screw into hits the bit where the mounting bolt runs through it. Bionic Balls
is there any way to pressurise a magura?surely if i pump enough water in to push the slaves in a but ill b allright?it can be done and used just fine..but be aware that people do sometimes break the pad guide pins off the slaves..you just need to bleed as normal, do the bolts back up, then hold the pads out by placing something underneath them (EG: matchsticks) to pull the pistons out slightly. Undo the lever bleed bolt, top up, bolt back. Sorted..the resting position of the pads is now slightly further out than it was...and all is well.edit- just read the 1/2" thing...that's a loooong way! staphan
Hi, I have a Mavic rear rim that is normally too small to use with the Magura brake but the previous owner of the bike was smart and added an extra pad backing to one of the pads. I recommend you try it while waiting for a new rim (if you have extra pads/backings that you don't need)

Dan6061
Was just about to suggest sticking an extra backing on to each pad!

I recommend you try it while waiting for a new rim (if you have extra pads/backings that you don't need) I've done that before with no problems. Wouldn't trust it fully though as the screws you use to fix the extra backing have to be quite short and so the backing could shear off under braking.
