Dean_Monty_Kamel Posted March 22, 2009 Report Share Posted March 22, 2009 hi people, i was riding the other day and a bent a rear disk brake, i bent it back with a spanner, just wanted to know have i weakened it alot? or does this happen alot?it is no longer totally straight either, will this wear my pads out quicker?thanks. Muel Posted March 22, 2009 Report Share Posted March 22, 2009 Unless you've bent the edge of the rotor by about an inch it should be fine, steel doesn't tend to weaken all that much when it gets bent.Just straighten it out and use it, I've never bent a rotor and replaced it yet. Dan6061 Posted March 25, 2009 Report Share Posted March 25, 2009 I hope the spanner wasn't dirty/greasey at all, otherwise you'd have contaminated the rotor!Rotors are steel, so they can take some abuse!
