Quorn mince is fairly shit. The 'slices' stuff they do are often pretty good, but I generally just use their "chicken style pieces". You flavour them with what you cook them in, so if you cook them badly or with stuff that straight up doesn't taste nice they'll probably be pretty rancid, but if you cook them in a decent sauce or with some nice herbs/spices they're usually nice.

So you're saying they're just about edible if you completely disguise the flavour? You aren't really selling them...

Sam, if you're going to spend this entire thread trying to needle me for everything I post, at least try a bit harder - as I said, they absorb the flavour of whatever you cook them in. They have a flavour of their own, but it's relatively subtle, and the whole point is that you cook them in stuff to give them taste. You can eat them just by cooking the pieces themselves, and I frequently do, but when you cook them in sauces, marinades or anything of that kind, they absorb the flavour well and give texture to what could otherwise be pretty boring. They're also a good source of protein, so if you're not getting a particularly well balanced diet as a vegetarian, you can get a lot of the protein you'd normally get from eating meat from them.

Anything you want to try picking up on in that bit? I almost literally can't wait to see what you'll come up with next.
