Mikee
I have never cut one out, I have drilled one but that's it. But I reckon using a drill to mark and the corners and then using a dremel to cut away the sides and then using a file to make it nice and tidy. If you know what i mean. austen
Never done it, but im guessing it would be good to practice on an old frame first
Muel
The easiest way is to get a holesaw, cut out 3/4 holes and take away the excess with a dremmell.
Ali C
The easiest way is to get a holesaw, cut out 3/4 holes and take away the excess with a dremmell.I use a hole saw, but just I use two big holes for the top and bottom and then dremmel the rest, gives a really neat curved finish
Mr Motivator
Holesaw and die-grinder.Or take it to an engineering workshop and get them to mill it out. That would probably be cheaper than buying the holesaws and grinder.
Matt Vandart
Is there any real advantage to doing this?To the guys that did it, did it weaken your frame?Did anything bad happen?Matt
Ali C
never ever ever seen a frame fail because of any holes in the head tube.
T.McMillan
I used a drill's hacksaw and files
BenJohnson
When i did mine i used a drill and an angle grinder. I know its a bit over the top but i just took my time. Cutting out the headtube doesnt really make any difference strength wise to the frame as all the pressure is via the heaset cups. To be honest it doesn't save that much weight but if done right can look really trick.Rob dont comment about my technique lol!!!!
