ilikeriding
ok so i broke it sledging a month ago now, was wondering if anyone else has done the same and how long it took them to get back riding decently, i can trackstand but i dont want to risk getting on the back wheel or anything, and i dunno how long its gonna be weak for either, i asked a doctor about it but they couldnt really give a great answer as trials is one of those things that makes you go in awkward positions and is stressful on the body... did anyone need physiotherapy?... by the way its a clean break in the middle if that makes any difference

JD™
When I broke mine in about 2003 I was back on the bike in 4 weeks, but I do heal stupidly fast for some reason. Plus, I was shite so probably not putting loads of pressure on it anyway! Have you had it really hurt when tying up shoe laces or anything yet? Canes like a bitch. NVWOCI WVS
I broke my collar bone on a bmx. I was told to not to stuff for a few weeks (8-10 I think), but I was riding again after about 4 weeks and it's healed fine.
tipsy Jock
I broke mine ages ago on a 4x track, they told me 4-6 weeks to get back to normal, i'd say at least 8-10 before you start trials again. I remember trying a pedal hop when I thought I was ok again, almost passed out with the pain, i reckon that set my recovery back a good few weeks too lol

Milford Cubicle
I've broken my collarbone before, can't remember exactly how long it took me to get back on the bike but twas a while as i decided i'd rather wait than screw up the healing process... also i sucked even more back then than i do now as i'd just started so probably wasnt putting much strain on it...billx
forteh
I broke mine sledging aswell, was years ago when we had freak snow in may, mid 1990s I think I dislocated the broken outside end of the bone aswell just to add to the pain, also trapped a nerve when as it was healing so had occasional shooting pains up the side of my neck for about 5 years afterwards After all that it healed nice and straight and hasnt given me any problems, think I was off bikes for a couple of months but I wasnt riding trials back then. I dont think it affects the strength of the collarbone if it doesnt heal straight, just looks a bit odd I remember now, it was 1995 when I was doing my GCSEs because the deputy head gave me a bollocking for using the linisher in tech class with one arm in a sling
