Andrex
Basically I've just fitted new set of urbans on my bike and was doing up the top bolt and the centre piece of the star nut snapped and is just spinning. Its too far done up to cut anything under the top cap without cutting my stem off and you can't get anything up the bottom to hammer the nut out. It also isn't even done up all the way. I'm stuck, confused and annoyed. Help? Edited March 10, 2009 by Andrex
crispyboy
What top cap do you have ?If you have one with holes in it you could stick a rod or something like that down there and that would stop it from spinning Do you have a hole in the bottom of your forks ? Andrex
Its an FSA top cap so there's no holes and the hole in the bottom is too small to put anything in.

Alex Dark
rubber hammer, knock the stem off or, get a screw driver or similar, and whack the centre of the star nut out towards the top of the forks
Andrex
rubber hammer, knock the stem off Success. I hit it slightly hard with a "bit" of anger and now the whole star nut has come out with it.I should really stop buying deng forks, they are soo crap and poorly made.
