Ok... the current story is Trials-uk is closed and will be from the first of March 2009.

Don't spend you money there if you never want to see it again.

Thought i'd give people the heads up.

If you want expert advice, good sales advice and general all round nice people and products, then use...

www.tartybikes.co.uk

You can't get many better than Adam Read and his staff.

Have fun riding guys..... XX

Well it was 'put up or shut up'. Ideally we would have all liked to have seen him get his act together and run a decent store. But I'd rather see it closed than pissing people about any day.

So 1st of march, that’s been and gone, so why does in not say on the web site that it is closed. Just trying to get a couple more peoples money before you go ah Dan?

So is it officially closing down for good?

Also, although I am fully aware many of problems that have been had with Trials-Uk it seems pretty childish posting a Thread to brag about the fact???

I agree. People also fail to realise this can only mean price increase overall.

i have to question the fact that if its closed, then why is the website still going and this not being on the website. if it was closing then why is he not selling off all his stock? untill dan comes on and says it himself im inclined to believe its proberly still operating and hasn't actually closed, even though his intentions may be are to close it soon.

I've also heard from somebody else that it will be closing, not that it already is closed. Apparently there's going to be a massive sale to get rid of the stock and then he's giving it up. Not sure how true it is but its just what ive been told.

If it had in actual fact closed, then why wouldn't you want to inform people, especially if the website doesn't state it? It's not 'bragging' about it, it's letting people know that they could potentially be wasting their time and/or money there.

Thank god for that !

Thats a bit out of order, losing a business is not a fun thing to happen to anyone even if it is his own fault.

Other people will be affected whose fault it was not, customers, his family etc.

I opened a shop and chose to close it late late last year as I saw this recession coming, even though I chose to close before I lost too much money it still caused problems with my other businesses which had to carry the can for that one.

I did make sure all my customers were happy first.

Tarty is an excellent business model and the guys that run it are on the ball and extremely good at what they do and seem like nice guys too. But don't forget your local bike shop for tubes and shit like that otherwise they will go under and that is not a good thing for anyone.

It means more Halfords for one thing.

Diversity means choice, and by loosing businesses you are loosing choice.

From what I read on here and heard first hand the T-UK experience wasn't a good one, but who complains when things go right, you just don't hear about it in a proper ratio to bad shit.

If he was trading for a number of years then he must have been keeping some people happy otherwise this would have happened ages ago.

What happens with warranties or shall they go through the manafacturer? My mate bought a bionic b2 frame off him back in febuary, came on monday and he's already having problems, this isnt down to t-uk but what shall happen if he needs a replacement under warranty?

I agree with Mr Vandart here, it's not a good time for a business to go under... Dan happens to be quite a sound guy in life although running a business isn't his strong point he's human and still needs to make a living, I know he's f**ked me around a few times but he has also sorted many orders properly and quickly, I didn't make a topic when I got a good service from him but as soon as one person has a problem a topic comes up and nobody posts there good experiences.. Saying this he wasnt quite set up properly e.g. lone man, mobile phone, unmarked stock. I do currently feel for the man and his family as I know what its like for yours or a closely related business goes down and it isn't a pleasant time... we were practically living on rations for about two years before the debts accumalated within the business were payed off.

Anyway, im not going to believe it till I hear proof!

i guess if people have problems with parts then, they will have to contact the importer and they should be able to sort a replacement out. i think the importer for bionic is trialsman, and all deng and tryall and most other stuff is tarty apart from onza obviously as they are english and import them selves.

With Tarty, you often do hear about the many, many positive experiences from customers. In fact on the London ride, it almost seemed like some people were one-upping each other with how sound Ad had been with them.

I'm pretty sure Dan is funded by his parents too, so I doubt they're really that affected by it anyway, in that it's basically what seems to be a hobby for him...

And therein lies the problem all along.
