Pashley26
hi all i was wondering how you cut forks down so ur stem isnt so high and what equipment i need thanks .Rob x...You get a hack saw with a metal blade, and you cut a straight line where the stem ends then put a star nut in and put the spacers, stem and top cap on. You can get a special fork cutting jig hat basically clamps down on the forks and provides you with a straight channel to cut through, but you don't really need it. I'd suggest riding it around uncut with lots of spacers for a few weeks so you can work out the right height. Pashley26
I only want 1 spacer on it as i am not tht very tallIt doesn't matter how tall you are, it's all about how you want the bike to ride.If you want to be further over the front wheel then yeah, one spacer is cool. But if you want to bring yourself back up so your body weights further towards the back of the bike then you want the stem to be higher. Also I'm assuming your putting a new set of forks on, so the wheel base will probably be +/- what your used to and you might need to adjust the geometry to suit ?
