Jake Beach
Hi,Has anyone had any experiences with the echo mod tyres? I need some for my first comp of the year next Sunday as my creepy crawlers are really worn and do not offer me any grip. On tarty it says that street riders love them for the strong sidewalls. Will they be ok for natural? I will be using the for natural and natural ONLY. Please do not say use the search as Jake+search=bad results. If there is already a topic the same as this please can someone link me to it. I need a quick reply as my dad is ordering them tomorrow. Muel
Front Try-All and a rear Monty, best set-up ever IMO.The Montys wear a bit faster than the creepys, but they wear about as fast as the Try-All fronts, so you don't end up with half worn tyres. EDIT: Also save a good bit of weight over Creepys and a lot over Echos. Edited March 1, 2009 by Muel
MiuSliS
Those tyres are for street riding only! Don't use em in comp, you will be disappointed. I finnaly bought eagle claw, that's a tyre to use. You can also use try-all good tyres too. Maxxis are really not that good as i've heard though. I don't really understand why people use it. eskimo
I recently bought an Echo 19". First time riding it on London yesterday. Really impressed with the little rolling resistance at low pressures. However after one day of general light riding i can't comment on 'bounce' or 'pinch resistance'. The grip however is terrible, for a comp i'd stay as far away as you can. After coming from a Monty Eagle Claw and a few days on a Try-All Sticky this tyre is shit. But i got it for quicker rolling which i'm happy with, but if your weight and wheel isn't in the right position and you need to a desperate lunge/ pedal kick to save yourself don't expect the tyre to help! The Monty Eagle Claw 19" seems the best all round tyre. Taking into account- Weight, Price, Grip, Life, Pinch Resistance, Bounce and Rolling Resistance.[edit]By the way it's just a Luna tyre. Jake Beach
My dad ordered me some creepy crawlers as he could get the front for £10 and the rear for £14.
