I am spanish (that will explain the spelling mistakes) and I have lived in Manchester for a good while...I am fairly new to trials, and I have a few question. Like most of us I gess. - Could I start with a BMX Frame and swap the handle-bars, sprocket, chain? (I am a bit uncertant about paying +£350 for a bike) - Anyone from manchester in the forum? Cheers to all.Hartigan
t-bird tom
No you can't ride trials on a BMX frame, look on Ebay and get an Onza t-bird for around £100/£150.
Revolver
You COULD do it on a bmx, but you'd crack your knees on the stem very often, and the brakes aren't really strong enough. Well, I've never ridden a bmx with good brakes. You ought to get a mod.
pashleylips
Making a trials bike out of a BMX would be a complete error man! Im sure if you ask around on the forum there will be plenty of guys with a shed load of cheap starter gear going, i think you would be surprised at just how cheap you could gather something together! Hartigan
Thanks Guys!! I appreciate your answers. I will see what I can find around the web. The Idea of using a BMX frame comes, from a bit of research that I did. Appatrently Mr. Pi first designed trials bikes out of BMX's. Thanks again, M.
