anzo
Well it seems I've been dropped to 3 days per week - and the pay decrease doesn't look very good at all. I'm sort of in two minds about this drop, the money is a b*****d but the spare time I'll have will allow me to get a lot of things sorted out.To make my money up I'm trying to go self employed for 2-4 days of the week if the business is there - preferably in network setup, XP support and SBS support. However I've not much experience in starting my own business and I've no idea where to even start; general things to start up with I'll need a company name and website - I may PM JonMac shortly to get a quote, although before I do this I need to sort a few other things out.So any ideas on company names anyone or advice in general? If you want to do it yourself your probably best as operating as a Sole Trader, this means that you can just set up a company name and start trading without any sort of legal "stuff" being done. Only risk is it that your finances are "the same" as the companys. Best invested a little in Flyers and making a decent webiste, then posting stuff through all possible customers doors?John Macks a bit different because he can opperate soley online for website design and stuff? Papa Manual
I think he was talking about Mac with regard to a corporate design or something. Sole trader is definitely the way forwards at this stage. The running and reporting requirements of a company will make it logistically demanding and more costly, so much so that it will offset any benefits that having a registered company would give you. anzo
I think he was talking about Mac with regard to a corporate design or something.Yup, thats what I mean.Thing is at the moment I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with it, so I guess the sole trader route would be the best. I'm not overly concerned if it doesn't take off, I'm just trying to try and make a bit of money from it, aswell as being my ideal career path - so I may as well try it now whilst I have the free time and resources to make it happen.Obviously, if this comes to the point where I can fully support myself on my own, then I'll stick to it and grow it.#Thanks for the help guys.
