This is not meant to sound disrespectful to Onza but just my opinion, but to me Onza bikes always look so cheap. I know they've improved over the years but they always 'look' like entry level bikes regardless of components etc. my first bike was a MKI T-rex and at the timei loved it but it was always a sloppy thing with strengthening gussets in every join and despite getting more refined over the years they still possess that cheap image.

Whilst frame tubing/geo/shape/layout is obviouslly progressing i think what lets Onza's down is they're finish. It's everything from what looks like overly thick highly laquered paint to they usually awful colour schemes they choose, but what i think is worst of all is their choice of typography. Onza seems to pick the most god awful typefaces for their bike, i think for the next set of frames employ a decent freelance graphic designer and get your frames looking good in terms of their finish.

I mean Koxx are having a god awful year in terms of styling yet they still manage to retain a more professional finish and i think this is what in my opinion lets onza's down time and time again.

I know its about how a frame rides and thats the most important thing, but it doesn;'t mean styling should be ignored.

I agree, but they did actually post up images of the frames graphics and for some reason a lot of people liked them. From a design point of view, I think they're f**king shit, but if the majority likes them then that's what you've gotta go with. I also agree that Koxx's styling this year is awful, browsing dafont for an hour and downloading the top 100 fonts then using them to write the model name on the head tube is not good design, it's lazy.

Oh yeah i can see why it would suit a certain specif part of the trials market, and i'm sure many people did like them, but they're just soo tacky, but Onza always has been. Crazy, eroded and rough typefaces with god awful gradients scream out ''look at me'', and to those who aren't as design aware (not being patronising/and nothing wrong with that) they demand attention so i guess that equals popularity. Just to me there's no subtelty.

I think one of the best frames for typography is the Inspired although the ''fourplay'' typeface isn't so nice. I personally would be ashamed to put my name to Onza typeface choosing, and Koxx also. hopefully one trials trials bike will have a simple elegance. Koxx weren't doing soo bad with frames like the Karbon, but 2009 is a bad year for Trials design.

Picky, picky, picky......

What is everyone's problem with the bikes?

They look rather nice to me.

Why is everyone so fussed about the fonts? It's just writing that is gonna get scratched off!

You youngsters seem too bothered about looks, not just the bikes but about your own looks when riding. VAIN!

Just get on you bikes and have fun with your mates.

Good effort on the bikes boys, hope you have a good year riding them.

I'm 23 you moron and have done an art foundation and design degree and done freelance graphic design work, and am now making a pretty extensive portfolio to start a career in the creative industries. I'm not a youngster and i've been in trials longer than Onza have exised. I was one of the first people to get their orignal t-rex so i'm not a youngster and i hope this goes some way to explain why im concerned about 'typefaces' not fonts.

It's not being picky, its called having an opinion, which is perfectly justified.
