Revolver
So long as none of the steerer tube pokes out, it would work, but it's not ideal.Maybe just buy the top cap and do without until then.
Jack_M
You could also bodge it up if you're desperate. You could either try using a long bolt and a normal top cap to tension the headset (no ideal but i've seen it done). Or you could follow this thoroughly dodgy but apparently effective method... http://www.observedtrials.net/vb/showthread.php?t=39281But yeah a new topcap is the long term solution. Muel
Once the stem bolts are done up, you don't need a topcap, it's only to tension the headset then the stem bolts hold it in place.Tarty will easily get it to you by tommorrow morning if they have any in.My brother ran slash cut forks with a flat top stem for ages, it just needs to be inside the stem.I'd just miss the ride though if I were you, buying a new stem is a bit extreme... Guest
im not really a great fan of stem so ... i tried running it with out a top cap last night but everything felt loose. and my parents wants nothing to do with the bike so i doubt that they would buy something for it how ever little it cost them or me.
