Echo-Scott Posted February 13, 2009 Report Share Posted February 13, 2009 Well i dont think you will want another Koxx after the experience you just had And to be honest, The new Deng range doesnt look particularly stong. So i would be suggesting possibly an older Deng frame maybe? Not the 08 Gu Tp though, They seem to like to crack just above the built in booster But the Czar's ride really nicely and look the part aswel. Never had a shot on the Ozony but they look of reasonable strength and i reckon will ride really nice. Monty's ride nice but look shit in my opinion, but they do tend to crack around the BB area.Personally i dont think there are enough really strong frames left on the market. I mean, My old Echo took 2 and a half years of proper TGS and the odd bit of natural bashing and there is a tiny tiny crack on the chainstay. They're really strong, not so much the 07/08 but if you like short frames, the 06s are really strong. Geos nice aswell, 1005, +55ish is all I can remember.I wasn't very keen on my 07 Long Maggy Lite, the 08 Long disc rode much nicer, even though it was only slightly different. eskimo Posted February 14, 2009 Report Share Posted February 14, 2009 I think the new Echo frames wouldn't be as weak as the Koxxs in general. Echo have refined most of the heavy bits on the frame it seems, like the bb join and gussets. They also use double butted tubes so dent resistance will be down but the joins should still be good. I wonder if they did change thickness on the rear tubes or just took the regular Team and did the above?But yeah the previous models would be fine. Strong enough to take a beating, and it's got a disc out back.(I do prefer maggy on stock, but disc is waayyy better on mod than maggy).
