Revolver
You'll have to miss out 4 spokes on the rim. You ought to miss the spokes out in pairs, driveside and non-driveside, as you'll end up with a wheel that won't true properly. It's possible, it just has a couple of complications. forteh
Its pretty much impossible to build into a decent wheel, certainly not without having some odd length spokes, why do you have to get 36h?
MiuSliS
36h hub + 32h rim would work. Clockwise i don't think so.

MiuSliS
I think that you can do it both ways. The questions are: "can you lace a wheel like that" and "how strong the wheel will be" that's it.
