hi all.... i need a question answering as it is puzzling me,

I am wanting to know if i have 2 harddrives in my computer can i have windows vista on one hard drive and windows xp on another?

abit random i know but i just would like to know if it would work.

You can do it easily, I used to have XP on one and Ubuntu on the other.

You can actually use one hard drive and have both installed on it, I don't no how you choose which one you want when you boot up, but I think it lets you share your documents and stuff.

Yes you can. Install xp on the first drive then vista on the second and the vista setup will sort out the bootloader so you get to choose which. Quite why you would want to run both though i don't know.

And its not that i want to run both its that vista is annoying me at the minute and i was just wanting to install xp onto my computer but i dont want to delete vista as ive payed for it so i may aswell keep it, if you get where im coming from :D

is that a new version of windows?

Think of it as a much better vista, from what I've read anyway. I would try it but I'm a lazy mofo.

But apparently 7 will come in all the different versions like vista did, which I think is stupid.

The SKU's have been announced there are only 3 versions real versions for the retail market http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/win7_skus.asp

The only 2 you should care about for home is Home and Professional just like XP.
