Joe Papasnap Maher
Laptop os f**king up big time.Basically, Just turned it on this morning and the screen was f**ked..I can see like split screen..Same thing top and bottom.im currently in safe mode with netoworking, as normal mode just gets to a certain point upon loading and the screen just goes black..almost like its not on.What the f**k is up with it?? Monitor issues??I have a 3 year warranty on this with dell, but bascially sending it back home, and what not is asking for more trouble..Any ideas..Ive added a print screen..but weirdly enough..it doesnt show the bottom half?? But where its all white..is a duplicate of the top??
anzo
Hmmm, not forced to be your graphics, it could be a power problem.Does the same thing happen when running on AC and battery?Does it duplicate going through the POST screens or just when XP has 'loaded'?Have you dropped it lately or been in a situation where you may have blocked airflow?Have you tried attaching an external monitor to the laptop to see if it still persists (obviously not a fix for it, but it'll help troubleshooting)? Joe Papasnap Maher
plugged in makes no diffrence. Cant even get back in safe mode. Currently on my phone haha. It sais at the mo, attepting to repair disc errors... This may take an hour to complete. What do i have to press to start in safe mode?that did nothing. So f**king annoyed cant even get in safe mode..f**k sake. Its working again now, fine and dandy. No battery in..just the plug.. No split screen. Its fine..But give it 5 mins, and it will freeze and just die again.. Will update in 5, to tell u if its still alive lol.
anzo
Strange that it works fine without the battery in - more than likely what I first thought with a dodgy power supply. But then again that wouldn't explain why it wouldn't boot in safe mode...unless dodgy power to the hard drive would cause such a problem.Keep posted Edited February 5, 2009 by Baby Pizzle
Joe Papasnap Maher
Right..no idea if the battery thing is of any relavance..but its been on now..since i last posted.. Not stopped or anything..so maybe it was just having a funny turn earlier?
Joe Papasnap Maher
Kept it on all night..woke up..all still working perfect.20 mins internet use and screen went black.(Possible lack of air to the underside..but no diffrent to normal?? ) I pressed the power button, turned it off and on..When it came on, its split screen again. Why is it being such a fanny. Danny
Send it back to your parents and get them to send it back for warranty or something? Should be fine if you package it well.

JD™
0333 says it timed out waiting for a keyboard response... so it's waiting for you to do something, it's not telling you what's wrong yet.
