tryallmaster
I thought little Timmy had a shit on with CNC backings because they snap the pins off magura pistons?Oh well its nice to see an old dog with new tricks. The pad backings were designed by TNN engineering and the compound created by Chris Russ (the founder of the plazmatic CRM compound). The pads will be called TNN CRM when released. AdamR28
I thought little Timmy had a shit on with CNC backings because they snap the pins off magura pistons?Possibly - but these new pads aren't anything to do with the 'Plazmatic' name as we have known it for the last few years. Chris Russ, the original Plazmatic manufacturer is providing the pad material but TNN Engineering are making the backings. The original Plazmatic backings had a totally different design to this, which meant that the flat sections against which the Magura slave 'pins' sat were cut away, making the pads rock too much under braking and snapping the plastic location clip on the Magura cylinders. These TNN backings are perfectly square and a little larger than other CNC backings to ensure less wobble.
N.Wood
So is this gonna be the decent, well loved 'never changed' CRM compound from years ago that worked amazingly and no one ever had any problems with?Or the new 'never changed' compound that wouldn't work for shit no matter what you did with it?They look good, hope they made the right decision with the compound. I believe the 'new CRMs' are not anything like the 'proper' CRMs.We have had a reasonable hand in testing and development with the help of Stan and Ali so will make sure the pads are bang on. We have already rejected one compound which appeared to be amazing in Australian conditions (30 degree heat) but was poor in the UK.

Tim/Trialsin USA
Yes. I believe the 'new CRMs' are not anything like the 'proper' CRMs.Just a break to supplant guess work, divining, gossip and innuendo with fact (god forbid).1. The compound manufactured for all CRMs is the same, as it has been since '99. 2. Chris Russ is responsible for the development of the compound. A highly talented individual that I have the most respect for, and continue to have personal relationship. However, there has only ever been one actual manufacturer of the compound. No one else makes it...before, now or in the future....it is proprietary.3. The original/first Plazmatic brake pads were made in the USA, the Citric Acid pads. 4. The founder of Plazmatic is me. '93, rim coatings. Now back to the cauldron of speculation and misinformation that are quite often forums.

AdamR28
Now back to the cauldron of speculation and misinformation that are quite often forums.Lol.So what are these?I'm quite sure they aren't 'proper' (I use that term as I can't think of a better word) CRM material, the set I have here are so soft and un-resilient that I can bite chunks out of them. And what were the Limited Edition ones made of? Muel
So why is there such a big difference in the new and old pads? New ones being no-where near as good. They might be 70A or whatever, but they can still have completely different characteristics.
AdamR28
Excerpts from some of my emails with TNN Engineering regarding the yellow pads pictured in my previous post:*Removed at request of TNN Engineering*Weird.
