Mediaplayer Codec Problems...

Since i reformatted my pc, i've had a few problems with playing video files.

I have sorted most of them. I have my updates auto on, and i'm up to date. I also downloaded Divx codec, Xvid codec, and whatever else i could find that i thought would help, codec-wise.

I still have video's that i can't hear the audio from. I have the codecs automatically downloaded option on, but it's clearly not working.

How the hell do i sort this out, because it's very annoying!

Cheers, Bongo

That option to 'automatically download codecs' basically doesn't work. You could download a codec pack like the K-lite one (if that's still around?!) which should sort it all out, but like Mike says, VLC seems like a much better option to me.

Working properly or not, WMP is nowhere near as good as VLC.

Honestly mate, it's one of the first things I install on a PC!

There is absolutely no reason to change to anything else, if WMP is working properly though...
