16 years later
Hi, I'm wanting to insure both my bikes and am wondering who is best to go with. There seems to be a lot of companies out there. So who do you have you bike insured with? Would you recommend them? Who would you recommend?I've never insured my bikes before so looking for some advice. Thanks Bruce
NVWOCI WVS
Best insurance against theft is a good lock. I bought a Kryptonite New York 'D' lock. Covers the bike upto £1,100 if it gets stolen while it's locked up.

psycholist
My bike is on house insurance. Insurance with a lock only covers the bike where you can prove the lock was broken to steal the bike. On the house insurance my bikes are covered while in the house, locked in a car, anywhere in the EU for up to 30 days in a row and 60 a year, and anywhere in Ireland and the UK ... I've never had a bike stolen yet though as I have a cheap nasty bike, which is the only one I ever leave locked outside.I got insurance online with 123.ie - there's a www.123.co.uk as well... NVWOCI WVS
Nope, my friends bike was stolen, locked with a kryptonite lock, they asked for a photo of the biek to prove the spec and to post them one of the keys, and they payed up the full ammount for him. Whoever took it swiped the lock too!

ogre
i've just got a quote, for 2 bikes totaling £1500, and it's gunna cost me £12 a month if you want a rough figure to go by, but i'm getting my dad to see how it compares to getting it put on the house. bigamac
Mines under house insurance i think. When in the home or locked up outside to an immovable object i think its up to £1,200 they can pay out.
