CZARKID
Alrite lads, i snapped my chain today, and after recovering some from very painful injures i started looking what to replace it with. I have not got a clue what all the 1/8, 3/32 and all that stuff mean so what do you recommend for a strong reliable chain.cheersalex

sstein
Get a halfords chain for a 5er. Works for me.+1I use a Taya singlespeed chain that costs £5.99 from Halfords. It is a beast I usually snap chains easily but this ching has lasted 3-4 months though I suspect it will need changing soon. (I can usually tell at the start of a ride whether my chain will break or not).

sstein
psychic or what :Llol. Can you not tell from the feel of your chain how much strength it has lost? I know what my bike should feel like and I know how a chain feels just before it breaks. Obviously I can't say for definite whether it will snap that ride or not, but usualy when it feels like it, it does!
