Right guys need some help,

sadly i got made redundant today... so ive decided to take my experience to university and get the degree. I have just filled in my UCAS form online today and it has been sent? What happens from here ( excuse me being niave ive just been away from school for two years now so im alone in this).

Please this will really help me, ive looked on direct gov for loans but it states the forms cannot be filled until mid February. Back to the UCAS form, now its sent will i recieve letters, other information etc?

Thank you

Btw i feel this is of great importance as it needs sorting so i have made a new topic, sorry to those it may annoy as there is a university topic.

Hey,

I wouldn't worry too much. However, you have missed the date (15th Jan) at which your application would be considered on a par with everyone else’s. You still stand an excellent chance of getting in though. What do you want to study and where?

When you fill the UCAS application in online it asks you whether you want to receive information by post or e-mail. I elected to receive by e-mail because I rarely check my post. I’ve already had one reply and you get an e-mail from UCAS telling you to log in to ‘track’ and check your choices. You can then accept them online.

Have you done your personal statement and got a reference etc?

Hello,

Yes that has all been sent, and i will get my reference from my boss (soon to be ex-boss) tomorrow. Im applying for design engineering/ architecture as i worked in that field for a couple of years, Ive done my A levels so have the points already and i will achieve more qualifications as im doing construction at college (M/M)....hopefully!

So if i regularlary check the tracking i will see how it is going? you see ive already made my first mistake...I have put my email as my work email (natural to me) and im getting made redundant so that will be a problem?

Cheers

You can go into your personal details and change your e-mail address. Problem solved :). You don't even have to check that often, you just need to make sure that you've got the tick box ticked saying that they'll notify you of updates by e-mail. Then just keep an eye out on your e-mail account and check occasionally on UCAS just to make sure.

I would have thought that you have an advantage considering you have work experience in the field. Hopefully that should cancel out to some degree the disadvantage of applying a little late.
