Muel
Just got conditional offers on Computing and Web Info Systems and Services! First and second choices, ah woo hoo.If anyone knows, could you tell me if a BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners counts as one subject? It's equivilant to 3 A Levels and has 18 units that give and overview of lots of different aspects of IT.The entry requirements are for 240 points from at least 2 subjects, but I'll be getting like 300 from this course if I do aswell as I'm planning on doing, I was just wondering if anyone knew?
Papa Manual
It is indeed listed as one subject. I'm entering with an ICSA Certificate in Finance and Administration (equal to a HND). It covers accounting, investment, trust and company law and general business environment yet I only list one qualification too.
Muel
Hopefully they'll let me in anyway. I've got an offer, surely that means that they've looked at my course and decided it's ok? Otherwise I wouldn't have been offered a place?I've been running a website part time for 2 years aswell, so hopefully that'll help.I rang up before, they're going to get the relevant person to Email me when they're next in the office. I wanted to go to the Royal College/ Academy but the deadline for entry was october, back then I was still in the Marines... Still, not too far away though, hopefully i'll get into at least one of my London choices.

Conditional offers are usually only made when you're awaiting exam results. I had a look on UCAS and it's a recognised qualification so I'd imagine you're home and dry. I still have to sit my exams (in two and a half weeks) and I will only get in to my univercities if I pass. On top of that, the qualification I'm using isn't even UCAS recognised but I contacted the exam board and they provided confirmation in writing that the level at which I'm studying is equivilent to that of the first year of a undergraduate degree, so it's all good. If you have a good reference and strong personal statement I wouldn't worry.
Muel
It's conditional, I'm awaiting the results of my BTEC.My reference and Personal Statement are really good according to my tutor, so I reckon I should be alright, but I got in touch with the Uni anyway just to make sure. Mark W
Architecture - Bristol, Chelmsford, Portsmouth, South Bank and Plymouth...would prefer to go to south bank ideallyIt's wank here. The architecture might be better than my course I guess. The SU should be built by the time you get here (If you go here), and the Digital Media Arts building (Where a lot of the architecture course goes down) is pretty sweet. The general uni admin is toss though, and their faculty offices and stuff are massively shit. It is in a good area though. Their Halls of Residences are like playing Russian Roulette as to whether you'll get a bunch of c**ts living with you or just a mild bunch of c**ts. You're pretty much guaranteed that anything not in your room will be stolen by an arrogant Cypriot fanny (No joke - they're renowned for it here, the halls manager actually said that to us after one of the Cypriot girls in our flat got her friends to trash our kitchen). I'm well aware of how racist/BNP that sounded, but it is actually what happens. Every person I've ever had hassle with here has been from Cyprus, it's not even funny any more.I'm digressing - LSBU is good because it's in London. That's pretty much it. Actually, you do get a bursary from them which is pretty sweet - £500 first year, £750 second, and then £1k for your third year that you get given just for attending 70%+ of lectures. Too. Easy. If you’re on about your university application, you’ve got to apply online through UCAS. You have about 7 hours to get it in if you want to be assessed on a par with other applicants. There's quite a lot of shit to fill out.
Muel
Is that it? My UCAS went in 2 weeks ago, this offer came from my UCAS application. She said application form though, so I assumed she meant something else. I'll get get in touch and find out for sure anyway, I want to get on this course so much!
Papa Manual
So far as I know, that's all you need to do. Maybe UCAS just haven't sent your application to the university yet. It may be different for your course though.

I think years ago it was meant to be a good for Photography but I could be completely wrong.I spent 2 years of my life in Salisbury College scraping through a National Diploma in Computing and Business. The halls of residence were being built when I was there so can only have been there for about 5 years, the halls are tiny and only have room for under 100 people. I would say the night life in Salisbury is great but if I said that it would be a lie, there are a shit load of pubs though, also some expensive piss poor excuses for nightclubs.A lot of money was thrown into the halls of residence and the College got into serious money problems and I believe was thinking about closing down, then suddenly Salisbury College 'joined' Bournemouth and is now now part of 'Wiltshire College' or something. If I'm honest, you have made a great choice going no where near the Salisbury campus, Bournemouth itself is meant to be great though.
