Is Anybody Using An Avid Bb7 Disc Brake?

I was just wondering what they were like and how they feel. I see a few people using them but being cable operated, I just imagine them being really soft. I have just bought a pair of USE Tfi forks with disc mount only so i need a disc.

Thanks in advance!!!

Yer. I don't use one now but used to. They are very popular in the trials community, both on 20" and 26" bikes. They're cheap, powerfull, easy to set up, strong, and reliable. definately worth getting one for the front, if that's what you are considering.

Cheers! The thing that grabbed my attention was not having to worry too much about ripping a hose out of the caliper.

All the cable disc i've felt have been horrible. What does the bb7 feel like?

if you take the time to set up the brake proper;y and have patience whilst it beds in it'll easily perform alongside hydraulic brakes costing twice as much.mines powerful enough to stop the wheel dead at 20mph or so(not that i recomend doing that :- )

my setup is a old style bb7,standard rotor and pads, clarks cables and a avid fr5 lever
