Nothing stupid about this thread. If he want's to stretch it, let him.

I stretched mine and since I've never had any skipping problems. You don't need one of those special hub tools either, just a good quality drift and a soft mallet to attack the bearing from the other side.

It's a high tensile spring and It's a tough one to stretch, in addition don't stretch it too much because it will snap if you go too far. Go easy and re-assemble it with a mix of both Finishline Wet XC and WD40 on the helix and only a touch on the ring drive.
